Congress Elections Now on BIC
SGA Congress elections are now up on BIC! To vote, login to your account and access the ballot under "Fall 2008 SGA Elections." Polls close at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Deadline Extended: SGA Congress Petitions
The deadline for turning in SGA Congress petitions has now been extended to Monday September 15th at 10:00 a.m. Also, if you are planning on running for SGA Congress, you must attend one of the mandatory elections meetings. The two dates to choose from are Monday September 15th at 10:00 a.m. or Tuesday September 16th at 5:30 p.m. Both meetings will be located in Massey 100. It is required for all Congress candidates to attend.

Executive Leadership Program Opportunities
Ten Belmont freshmen are selected to participate in a year-long program in which they move through a series of various types of experiences as a cohesive unit learning about teamwork, leadership, communication, community service, organization, and self- purpose. Topics to be included in the program: team building, communication skills, event planning, time management, self motivation, personal purpose and mission.Students will have the opportunity to network with campus administrators, current student leaders, and community professionals. Students will be required to complete a series of tasks, including being given a budget and the necessary resources to create, plan and implement a campus-wide event/program for the Belmont community.


Applications are now available outside of the SGA Office in the Beaman Student Life Center and are due by noon on September 10th.

Welcome Back!
On behalf of the Student Government Association, I would like to welcome everyone back to Belmont. This upcoming year is going to prove to be truly monumental one here at Belmont and I can't wait to see what will unfold. SGA Cabinet has already been hard at work over the summer preparing for the upcoming year. We have a large number of events, programs, and initiatives planned for the coming year.

If you are interested in getting involved on campus, we would love for you to come and check out Congress and ELP (Executive Leadership Program). To find out more information about either of these opportunities please check us out at the Fresh Fest (for freshmen only) on Tuesday August 26th 4-7 p.m. on the Grassy Knoll, or at the Student Activities Fair on Friday August 29th 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on the Quad.

A Call to Action - Voter Registration Concert

This Saturday from 2-4 PM, Student Government Association is sponsoring a concert to encourage students to register to vote. The concert will feature Stephanie Lambring, Brett McLaughlin, Mary Lawren Maples, and Josh Wright. A booth will be set up for students to register to vote, but even you are already registered, come and enjoy some of Belmont's top artists!

The concert will be in the amphitheater by the Bell Tower.

Culture and Arts Convocation will be given.

2008 Bruin Den Day

On April 12th (this Saturday), Student Government Association will be hosting its annual 'Bruin Den Day' service event. This year, Belmont SGA is partnering with Hands on Nashville to create opportunities to plug in students with local community organizations. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation will all be provided. This is an excellent opportunity to serve your community as well as have a great time!

4 credit hours of community service convo will be given!

Free t-shirts to all participants as well!
