Law, Political Philosophy,
- Philosophy and Feminism. Prof. Osborn holds a law degree and she came
to Belmont from the firm of
- King, Ballow & Little, where she was practicing first amendment
law. She taught philosophy for 12
- years at Harpeth Hall School, an elite college prep school in Nashville.
Her work in the philosophy of
- law includes the right to privacy, academic freedom, and political
correctness. She teaches the course
- Philosophy and Feminism which appeals to students across the University.
Prof. Osborn writes poetry
- avocationally and reads Spanish philosophy, especially the work of
Jose Ortega y Gasset.
- Prof.Osborn's dissertation includes her own translation of Plato's
Lysis. Dr. Osborn was the 1995-96
- recipient of the Chaney Distinguished Professor award at Belmont in
recognition of her outstanding
- teaching.
