JAZZ CELLIST DANA LEONG has been cited for one of the “Top 10 Performances of the Year in New York City.” He is active as both a renowned cellist and a powerful and articulate trombonist. Mr. Leong’s debut album entitled “Leaving New York” features his original compositions and guest appearances by Christian McBride and eight-time Grammy winning clarinetist Paquito d’Rivera. Mr. Leong has performed as cellist, trombonist and producer for many artists, including Richard Stolzman at Carnegie Hall, the 2006 Grammy-nominated Jazz Chamber Trio led by Pauquito d’Rivera (where Leong now fills a chair frequented by Yo Yo Ma), Yoko Ono, Boyz II Men, Earth Wind and Fire, Ray Charles, Lionel Hampton and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. He is currently on a “Rhythm Road Tour” of Asia, sponsored by Jazz at Lincoln Center and the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
