Selecting a New Room

Searching and Selecting a Room

Searching and selecting a room is similar to searching for your roommate request.  The Room Selection and Search function is accessed from the Main Menu of the Housing On-line Selection Process.  Select the Room Selection link on the main menu and a new web page will be opened, similar, to Screen 1 down below.

Searching For Available Rooms

The search function as seen in Screen 1 allows you to narrow or expand your search to display all available room spaces.  The search will only display rooms that match your gender or are not gender specific.  You have numerous options to shape your search.  You may search for only spaces with at least two spaces open, a specific hall or complex, a specific floor, or even a specific room.   You cannot search for a specific person; however, a list of students and their selected rooms will be available  in each lobby or clubhouse and updated periodically throughout the Housing Selection Draw.  In addition, floor plans and room layouts  are available at the following link,  Floor plans

How to Select a Room from Your Search Results

Screen 2 is an example of typical search results.  On the right side of the web page is a list of available rooms.  The “Hall” name is listed at top, followed by the floor.  Listed underneath  is room number, open beds, room type, and fee.  Room types of note include:  RHDB-double room, RHTP-triple room, RHSN-single room, NEWB-Kennedy and Thrailkill double room, BCFS-Belmont Commons Apts., NA2B-Hillside 2 bedroom, NA4B-Hillside 4 bedroom, BHFS-Bruin Hills Apts.   Listed next is “Spots” which is the number of open spaces available.  “Fee” is the cost of the space for this fall semester.  (Rates are scheduled to increase so budget accordingly).   If the Select Room button is not grayed out, it means you are eligible to select a  room.

Once you find a room that you would to like select, click on the room, and a new web page will open.

Selecting a Room

Screen 3 is similar to the web page displayed after selecting a room.  This page displays the room you have selected and allows you to confirm your selection.  If you would like to choose another room or enter a new search, you may select the Housing Back Button located on the bottom of the page.  Please do not use your browser back button.  Pressing the Submit Room Selection button will submit your selection and will open a new page (Screen 4) that confirms your assignment for 2009-2010.  You should receive an email to your Belmont pop account verifying your selection.  If you had a verified roommate request, you roommate will be placed with you and will not have to select a room. After selecting your room space, you will be unable to select another room.  After receiving your confirmation, you have completed the Housing Selection Process.  You can return at anytime to the Housing Overview screen to see your housing information and roommates.
