How to Cancel for the Fall Semester |
|
Canceling your housing assignment for 2009-2010is a simple, online process. First, consider whether you meet the University’s off-campus eligibility requirements of more than 60 hours earned before the start of the fall semester. If you do not have enough credits, you may qualify for an exemption from the housing requirements by meeting one of the criteria outlined in the Introduction of the Housing Agreement: “Student is: 1) 21 years of age or older by August 26, 2009; 2) married and/or has children residing with him/her; 3) living with parents, legal guardians, grandparents, or siblings over the age of 25 while attending Belmont…” If you meet any of these criteria, you may apply for an exemption cancellation. Graduating, transferring, and withdrawing students must cancel their housing. To complete the cancellation process, log onto your personalized BIC front page, and click on the Housing Selection link near the top left hand side of the page. Your personalized Belmont Housing Selection Page will appear by selecting the link. Choose Housing Cancellation Request from the menu at the left of the screen. You will be asked to verify and/or add your personal information. Following this, you must select which room assignment you would like to cancel and your reason for canceling. Finally, you may add additional details (including exemption request information) that you would like the Residence Life Office to consider with your request. After you have completed this online form, hit the Submit Cancellation Request button (or if you have made a mistake, you can reset the form and start again). An e-mail containing your request details will be sent to the Residence Life Office, and you will see a confirmation screen. After your request has been considered, you will receive a decision via e-mail regarding your cancellation and exemption request. Please note that you are only submitting a request for cancellation, and that it may be approved or denied by the Director of Residence Life. You may cancel at any time until May 15th without penalty, provided that you complete the above process. After May 15th, you may only cancel your housing assignment according to the terms stipulated in the Agreement. |
