DURA EUROPOS HOUSE CHURCH, 232-256 (Lowden 18-24)


DEVELOPMENT:
The site that became the Christian house-church and baptistery was altered as suggested in this set of drawings. On the left two rooms were made into one larger for worship; in the upper right a room was transformed into the baptistry.
The Baptistery Frescoes
To the left is the reconstructed baptistery at Yale University. Lower left is the Good Shepherd scene in the lunette over the font. Below are depictions of the cured paralytic (l) and Peter walking on water (r), which are located on the wall to your right of the "font".
