Dates: May 4 to May 24, 2008

Places:  Fly from Nashville to Osaka (Kansai International Airport) and take trains to Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Nara in the heart of “deep Japan.”  The travel-study program will feature 19 days in Otsu and Kyoto to read texts and visit sites of cultural importance:

Course Offered: “Kyoto: Capital of Japanese Culture,” HUM 3950, Junior Cornerstone, 3 credits taught by Dr. Paine.  Students may also complete ENG 3950, “Third Year Writing,” taught by Dr. Stover.  Credit available for ENG, ENL, HON, and HUM courses.

Program Fee: $4800 excluding tuition.  Summer study abroad tuition available at discounted rate.  Exact costs are subject to change.  $500 nonrefundable deposit to reserve a spot due February 11, 2008.  Some meals and entertainment expenses are not included.  Limited to 20 students.  For complete information see:
