Janet Eyler

Janet EyletProfessor Eyler's scholarly work has focused on various forms of experiential learning including several studies of internships and service-learning in higher education. She has co-directed a national FIPSE-funded service-learning research project and a Corporation for National Service project on learning outcomes for college students. The focus of her recent research has been on the impact of service-learning on civic engagement, cognitive development, problem solving, and transfer of learning. Dr. Eyler is a winner of the 1998 Outstanding Research Award, National Society for Experiential Education, and the 2003 Thomas Ehrlich Faculty Award for Service-Learning.  She serves as Associate Chair and Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Department of Leadership, Policy and Organizations at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University.
